On Monday, August 31 at 5:30 pm, the Wilanow Public Library's branch at al. Rzeczypospolitej 14 hosts a session called "Slowo i relaks: joga twarzy z cytatem" (Word and relaxation: face yoga with a quote). It pairs a moment of literary inspiration with a lesson in gua sha, a technique from traditional Chinese medicine increasingly used as a simple exercise to relax facial muscles after a long day. Admission is free.

The branch at al. Rzeczypospolitej 14 sits on the ground floor of the Centro Alto building, right in the heart of Miasteczko Wilanow, alongside more than a dozen other service points. It is not just a place to borrow books. Its roughly 450 square meters were designed as a space for cultural gatherings, for both children and adults, so an evening like this one fits the branch's regular programming rather than being a one off exception.

Where exactly to go and how to sign up

It is worth telling apart two things that are easy to confuse when searching online. The "Miasteczko Wilanow" branch at al. Rzeczypospolitej 14 is a different building from the Wilanow Public Library's main location at ul. Kolegiacka 3, which also houses Centrum Kultury Wilanow. It is that building at ul. Kolegiacka where a separate, paid face yoga workshop series runs, organized by the Cultural Center for around 50 zloty per session. The August 31 event is different: it is organized by the library, in a different location, and it is free.

Anyone interested should contact the branch directly at +48 22 642 24 26 or by email at mw@bibliotekawilanowska.pl to confirm there is still room. Attendance at sessions like this one tends to be limited, since the instructor demonstrates the technique live and corrects each participant's hand placement individually.

For residents of Miasteczko Wilanow, it is also a good chance to simply get to know this branch, if you have so far associated the library only with the building on ul. Kolegiacka. Al. Rzeczypospolitej 14 sits closer to the center of the neighborhood, surrounded by shops and service points, so an evening stop for an hour of relaxation after work does not require crossing the whole district.
