Glasses for work, glasses for reading, or just an eye exam because your vision has been sliding and the last checkup was years ago. In Wilanów you do not have to drive into the city centre for that. The Medicover network runs two of its own optical showrooms in the district, and each one has a different address, different hours and a different setting.
The first is inside the Royal Wilanów office building at ul. Franciszka Klimczaka 1, opposite the Wilanów District Office. The entrance to the showroom is from the building's courtyard, by the exit of the underground car park, and customers get 1,5 hours of free parking there. The showroom is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 20:00, following the updated opening hours posted on Medicover's own site. The showroom's own contact number is +48 668 412 551.
The second address: inside Medicover Hospital
The second location sits inside Medicover Hospital at al. Rzeczypospolitej 5. Its hours are wider: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 20:00, Saturday from 8:00 to 16:00. The contact number is the same as in Royal Wilanów, +48 668 412 551, which suggests a shared phone reception serves both locations.
An optometrist performs the eye exam at both showrooms, and you can combine the exam with picking out glasses on the spot, with no need for a second trip elsewhere. You can book a visit in several ways: in person at the showroom, by phone to the reception number above, through Medicover's general helpline on +48 500 900 925, through the Medicover OnLine app, or through Medistore.
For anyone living in Miasteczko Wilanów or Wilanów Królewski, the choice between the two addresses mostly comes down to whether it is easier to reach the District Office or the hospital on Rzeczypospolitej Street. Both showrooms belong to the same network and the same price list, so picking a location is really a question of hours and commute, not of service quality.
Before you go, it is worth calling ahead to check the current price list on site, since the fees for fitting lenses or contact lenses vary with the scope of the exam, and Medicover's own page lists them in a way that is easy to misread from a distance.
