On Sunday, October 4, the hall of Centrum Sportu Wilanów at ul. Wiertnicza 26a will turn for a few hours into the deck of the legendary transatlantic liner. Titanic Show is a dance and music performance by Agustin Egurrola, a well known choreographer and founder of the Egurrola Dance Studio chain, telling the story of the Titanic's passengers through dance, music, period costumes, visualizations and lighting. The event is organized by the Wilanów district and admission is free.
Two screenings are planned on the same day, at 3:00 PM and at 7:00 PM, so residents can pick whichever time suits the whole family, a Sunday afternoon or an evening out. The number of seats is limited, so simply showing up on the day of the show without securing a ticket in advance may not work.
How to pick up tickets
The tickets are free, but they must be picked up in person, at the Urząd Dzielnicy Wilanów (District Office), from September 29 to October 2, between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM. That covers almost the entire coming working week, so it is worth planning the pickup alongside another errand at the office, rather than leaving it for the last day, when interest tends to be highest.
The Wilanów edition of the show is a shortened, free version of Egurrola's larger production, also known from paid dinner shows at the Manuarte venue in central Warsaw. Here there is no menu inspired by the Titanic's original 1912 dining list and no multi hour feast, just the artistic part itself: choreography, narration led by Egurrola himself, and an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of a voyage that became one of the most famous stories of the twentieth century.
Centrum Sportu Wilanów, known to residents mainly for its swimming pool and sports classes, changes its function for one day and becomes a performance hall. It is a rare chance to see a professional dance production without traveling into the city center and without paying for a ticket, all it takes is stopping by beforehand to collect one.
